Canadian National Fire Fighter of the Year - Jim Jackson
Jim Jackson (JJ) has won this year’s National and Ontario Fire Fighter of the Year Award!
JJ has been a volunteer with Muscular Dystrophy Canada for many years. During the last few years, he has taken on the role of MD Advisor for the Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton, Peel, and Toronto areas.
Many of the staff know JJ as a person who is willing to help out in any way he can. He goes above and beyond his role of MD Advisor to show his dedication the Muscular Dystrophy Canada and families with neuromuscular disorders.
It is not unusual for JJ to visit a Fire Chief, have lunch with an MD Chair, attend a Muscular Dystrophy Canada fundraising event, and talk with a local family affected by a neuromuscular disorder all in one day. Not to mention his duties as father, husband and Fire Fighter!
JJ is always positive and full of energy. He is constantly looking for new ideas to help the organization. He is a wonderful ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy Canada and his enthusiasm is infectious. We thank him for being a part of our team.
